Newark Academy will play host to its annual invitational this Saturday and Sunday. All of the eight teams competing are ranked in The Star-Ledger Top 20; No. 1 Millburn, No. 2 Delbarton, No. 3 Newark Academy, No. 4 Livingston, No. 5 Haddonfield, No. 6 Pascack Hills, No. 10 Moorestown and No. 11 Westfield.

 | Minuteman Wrestling Season Has Successful End
The 2011-12 wrestling team capped off its season of individual accomplishments with three placers in the State District Tournament held at Livingston High School. At 106 pounds, freshman Brendon Seyfried majored E. Santiago of Newark Eastside, 11-3 in the semifinals, before losing in the finals to A. DeLorenzo of Nutely, 3-1.

Newark Academy’s boys and girls basketball programs hit a high on Friday night, February 24. In front of a charged up, standing-room-only crowd, the girls varsity, boys JV and boys varsity teams swept their games against Kent Place and MKA, respectively.

Junior Jen Koide holds every swimming record but one, 10 out of 11! She is on her way to the Meet of Champions at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology on March 3 and 4 where she’ll have the opportunity to break number 11!

The Newark Academy girls basketball team is in rarified air as they enter post season tournament play. Riding the crest of a 14-3 record, the Minutemen have garnered the #1 seed in the New Jersey Prep School state tournament and the #2 seed in the NJSIAA North Non-Public ‘B’ Sectional championship!
