Ten Students Selected to Participate in NA Middle School National Geographic Geography Bee

Ten Middle School students have been selected to participate in the Newark Academy Middle School National Geographic Geography Bee, which will take place January 5, 2016, on campus, and consists of two rounds: The Final Round and the Championship Round.
The ten students are Evan Bulan ’23, Aidan Troy ’23, Konrad Czyzewski ’22, Maximilian Gorbaty ’22, Serin Hwang ’22, Tyler Lorenz ’22, Oliver Adelson ’21, Micaela Alpert ’21, Pravan Chakravarthy ’21 and David Fu ’21.

During the Final Round, all ten students will be asked a number of questions that draw upon their knowledge of the physical and cultural geography of the United States and the world. Students will have 15 seconds to answer each question and are eliminated after answering two questions incorrectly.

The remaining two contestants will enter the Championship Round. The contestant who answers the most questions correctly in the set will become the School Bee winner and will then take the qualifying test for the New Jersey State Bee, which will be held on March 31, 2017. The culmination is the National Championship at National Geographic Society Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on May 15-17, 2017.

The National Geographic Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Each year, thousands of schools across the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee, competing for college scholarships and the glory of being the National Geographic Bee Champion.
