Commencement 2013

A day to remember for the Class of 2013.
“Fight for truth and fairness,” NA’s Commencement speaker told the Class of 2013. Lanny Davis, renowned lawyer, legal crisis manager, television commentator and author, offered advice, experience and nostalgia during his address to graduating seniors.

Davis, a Newark Academy graduate from the Class of 1963, shared anecdotes from his years working for the administrations of presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. He talked about his time at NA, and described some of the moments that have remained with him since his own graduation. Drawing from his experience in the worlds of politics, law and media, he reminded the audience that in the age of the internet, there’s still no substitute for doing your research to seek out the facts.

Sharing the podium, Zoe Huber-Weiss delivered the T.C. Abbey Oration for the Class of 2013. Zoe described her fellow seniors as caring and passionate; their commitment to causes large and small is their hallmark and their legacy.

Following the keynote address, the Class of 2013 received their diplomas to thunderous applause and support from family members, faculty, staff and friends.
