  • NA’s Sal Garcia ’26 Represents NJ With Chance at Little League World Series

    Sal Garcia ’26 slugged his team one game closer to the Little League World Series. Sal, who will join NA’s 6th grade in September, hit the go-ahead home run for his Elmora Youth Team (Elizabeth, NJ) to win the Little League Baseball 12-year-old State Championship.
    The win earns Sal and his team a trip to the Little League Regional in Bristol, CT where Elmora Youth will compete as the Team New Jersey for a chance to play in the Little League World Series. They will play the Pennsylvania State Champions on Sunday at 10 a.m., to start a tournament where the winner heads Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series, from August 15 – August 25.

  • NA’s Victoria Pevzner ’24 Wins Silver Medal at USA Fencing National Championships

    Newark Academy’s Victoria Pevzner ’24 won a Silver medal in Y12 women's foil at the USA Fencing National Championships in Columbus, OH on July 6. The second-place finish comes after winning the gold medal in fencing for girl’s foil, 12 and under, at the North American Cup Tournament in March.

  • NA Middle School Swimming Team Raised $5,700 for Charity

    The Middle School swim team raised just over $5,700 this past season during NA’s fifth annual swim-a-thon. The team donated $4,000 to the West Essex YMCA to help with their free one-week Safety Around Water classes and used the rest of the money to donate more than 400 pairs of goggles and caps to the Recreation Department in Newark.

  • Middle School Play, Agatha Rex, May 9 and 10

    This year, the Newark Academy Middle School will be staging Agatha Rex, an adaptation of AntigoneAgatha is a girl who stands up for her beliefs, regardless of the consequences. As student council president at Thebes High, she vigorously defends a student who is unfairly punished. Based on her actions, she could be expelled and lose an important scholarship. Set in a modern-day high school, the play translates the original Greek chorus into a fantastic ensemble opportunity. Admission is free.
