The first step is to submit the Online Admission Formand application fee. Copies of the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school transcripts should also be requested and submitted to Newark Academy from the applicant's current or prior school by the above deadline.
Once we have received your Online Admission Form and 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school transcripts, applicants will be able to self-schedule the required applicant interview. Interviews will begin in mid-September.
Recommendations from three teachers are required for each applicant and should be initiated through our online application portal. Recommendations should be completed by the student’s current English, Math, and another teacher of the student’s choice. If an applicant has the same teacher for more than one subject, the teacher must complete one form for each individual subject. Newark Academy recommends that families wait until December to ask teachers about requesting recommendations so that they have the time to get to know your child.
2018-2019 & 2019-2020 School Transcripts due December 14, 2020
2020-2021 Official First Marking Period Transcript due January 25, 2021
Each applicant must arrange for a copy of his/her school transcript to be sent to Newark Academy. Parents must download, print and sign the Transcript Release forms, and give it to the applicant’s current or prior school. The school(s), in turn, should send the student’s transcript including any standardized testing to Newark Academy. Please note the above deadlines for 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 transcripts, and the second deadline for 2020-2021 transcript. The Transcript Release forms will be available soon and can be found to the right under Application Forms.

All applicants must take an admission test during the current academic year. Newark Academy applicants can take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) on several Saturdays from October through February (visit www.iseetest.org for detailed information about testing). We will also accept the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT); visit www.ssat.org for details. If you would like your child to take the SSAT in lieu of the ISEE you must arrange for his/her scores to be sent to Newark Academy prior to the January 25, 2021 deadline. There is no need for an applicant to take both of these tests. The ISEE and SSAT require a three-week advance registration, so please plan ahead. (ISEE School Code: 310915, SSAT School Code: 5296)
