The first step is to submit the online admission application and application fee. Copies of the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school transcripts should also be uploaded to the application portal or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by the above deadline.
Once we have received your online application and 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school transcripts, a member of our Office will contact you to arrange the required student interview and on-campus writing sample. If you are applying to Newark Academy internationally, we will be able to accommodate a Skype interview. Please contact our Office for more information.
Recommendations from three teachers are required for each applicant and should be initiated through our online application portal. Recommendations should be completed by the student’s current English, Math, and another teacher of the student’s choice. If an applicant has the same teacher for more than one subject, the teacher must complete one form for each individual subject. Newark Academy recommends that families wait until December to ask teachers about requesting recommendations so that they have the time to get to know your child.

The school(s), in turn, should send the student’s transcript including any standardized testing to Newark Academy. Please note the above deadlines for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 transcripts, and the second deadline for 2019-2020 transcript. The Transcript Release forms can be found to the right under Application Forms.

All applicants must take an admission test during the current academic year. Newark Academy applicants can take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) on several Saturdays from October through February (visit www.iseetest.org for detailed information about testing). We will also accept the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT); visit www.ssat.org for details. If you would like your child to take the SSAT in lieu of the ISEE you must arrange for his/her scores to be sent to Newark Academy prior to the January 27, 2020 deadline. There is no need for an applicant to take both of these tests. The ISEE and SSAT require a three-week advance registration, so please plan ahead. (ISEE School Code: 310915, SSAT School Code: 5296)
