Transportation

Newark Academy is proud to welcome students from over 85 different communities throughout Northern New Jersey. Drawing from so many towns, families get to NA in a variety of ways, including driving, carpooling or electing private bus service. 

During the 2024-2025 Newark Academy is partnering with Belair Transport to provide families with a private busing option.

It’s important to know that as a NJ taxpayer, you can request a transportation reimbursement (up to $1,177) if your resident school district is not providing your child with free transportation to Newark Academy.

This reimbursement is available to the majority of NA families whose child lives  2.5 - 20.9 miles from school and one of the following:

• Takes private bus transportation to Newark Academy, or

• Is driven to school by their parent/guardian or is a member of a carpool, or

• Drives to school

In order to receive this reimbursement, families must complete a Transportation Reimbursement (B6T) Form for each child and submit it to Newark Academy by the deadline set each year.  

NA families contract directly with Belair Transport.

Fees, schedules, and routes are determined solely by Belair.

• Families will receive an email with the Application for Transportation in mid-March 

• Application for Transportation due on April 15
• Belair will publish the proposed routes in early May
• Families to submit the Transportation Services Agreement (final contract) and full payment by May 15
