Affording NA
Newark Academy recognizes that the cost of an independent school education represents a significant investment for any family and we are committed to ensuring that NA remains accessible and affordable to families across northern New Jersey. We are proud to offer nearly $5 million in financial aid each year. But at Newark Academy, we realize that the cost of an independent school includes more than just tuition. As a result, the above figure includes financial aid towards tuition as well as proportional aid on all required items and experiences.
During the 2025-2026 school year the tuition is $53,175 plus $2,000 in required fees. However, nearly 20% of students pay far less than that. We are committed to supporting families from all income levels, and we meet 100% of demonstrated need.

Please complete your Financial Aid application using Clarity. Clarity takes into account a family’s income, assets, expenses, debt, and other factors when evaluating need. All completed applications submitted to Clarity are reviewed by Newark Academy’s Financial Aid Committee. Decisions are communicated to families in the spring of each year for the coming school year.
To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools. Tuition Assistance applications will open in August 2025. As Clarity is operated by a third party, Newark Academy is not able to provide fee waivers
New families - the financial aid application process is separate from the admission process. Please complete a Clarity application by January 12, 2026.
Returning families - Please complete a Clarity application by November 1, 2025. If seeking financial aid for the first time, please contact financialaid@newarka.edu.
You can find a step-by-step guide for submitting a financial aid application through Clarity here.
Financial aid decisions and awards are issued with re-enrollment in January for returning families. New families will receive their financial aid decisions and awards in February, alongside their admission decision.
