Dear Members of the Newark Academy Community,
I am proud to share with you the 2020-2021 Annual Report, which recognizes the overwhelming generosity of Newark Academy’s alumni, parents, trustees, faculty, staff and friends. Thanks to this community’s support, NA received nearly $3 million in donations, which is a particularly impressive sum, given that these contributions were made in the midst of the pandemic. I am sincerely thankful for your commitment to Newark Academy.
Your donations helped our school remain resilient during the 2020-2021 pandemic school year, which, understandably, created unforeseeable costs. NA reimagined the in-person school experience by creating 15 outdoor spaces that were transformed into classrooms, thanks to tents, large TV screens and an expansion of our Wi-Fi footprint. Weekly pool testing was instituted, HVAC systems were upgraded, and NA faculty undertook training and professional development to prepare for hybrid instruction and to enrich the classroom experience. In addition, we were able to increase crucial financial assistance to families struggling during the pandemic.
Every independent school depends upon the generosity of its community, and at no time during my tenure was that more apparent for Newark Academy than during the 2020-2021 school year. Thanks to you, we have been able to persevere, providing our students with a safe and enjoyable school experience with no sacrifice to our usual academic standards.
On behalf of the entire community, thank you for your unwavering support.
