Annual Report on Giving 2018-2019

Your gift at work – every student, every day

Dear Members of the Newark Academy Community,

This past year, we asked you to imagine the potential, the power and the possibilities of how your gift could enhance the Newark Academy experience.
The impact of your Annual Fund gift can be seen every day in the innovation and curiosity that our students experience in the classrooms, the creativity and intellectual play that is displayed in the arts, the spirit of unity that cemented while embracing diverse perspectives, the perseverance and resilience that is exhibited on the fields, the strength of our teachers to provide exceptional learning opportunities, and the lifelong connections that continue to be made among our alumni.
Thanks to you, we rose to the challenge and exceeded every goal in Rise & Flourish: The Campaign for Newark Academy, securing more than $33 million in support necessary to transform our campus and strengthen our endowment. The collective power of this community continues to inspire us all and it was an honor to celebrate this momentous accomplishment in January 2019 at Finale with a Flourish. In June, we began the final phase of the campaign – the renovation of the auditorium into the Coraci Performance Hall.
The 2019-2023 strategic plan was approved in December 2018. NA is committed to fostering a sense of belonging by empowering an inclusive and diverse learning environment for students and faculty, providing professional development for faculty to support skills-based instruction, building connections with extended members of the NA community, and more. The plan will guide us through the next four years as Newark Academy looks to its 250th anniversary in 2024.
The fulfillment of our mission – to contribute to the world engaged individuals instilled with a passion for learning, a standard of excellence, and a generosity of spirit – depends upon the generous support of our community members. The possibilities imagined for our students have become a reality because of you.

With gratitude,
