The 17th Annual Newark Academy Community Art Exhibit to Showcase “The Nature of Things,” Accepting Submissions

The Newark Academy Arts Department is accepting submissions for the 17th Annual Newark Academy Community Art Exhibit.

Newark Academy Community members are invoked to make a work of art based on the idea of The Nature of Things. This theme can be approached in a number of ways. One could choose to focus on capturing the essence of something from the natural world. This includes representing the nature of elements, dreams, or memories. For more ideas, watch this presentation that Mrs. Brodie shared during a morning meeting earlier this week.  Artists may work in any medium, and there are no limitations in regard to the size.  The work should be school appropriate and delivered “exhibit ready” from January 19 – 22, 2021. For more information, contact Chair of the Arts Department, Elaine Brodie, at ebrodie@newarka.edu

The David Teiger ’47 Gallery for the Studio Arts features the artwork of professionals and students in exhibits that change each month. In the month of January, the NA community comes together and creates works of art based on a common theme. Submissions from students, teachers, staff, alumni and parents are welcome.
