Cosimo Fabrizio ’18, of South Orange, has grown as a student since beginning his NA journey in the eighth grade.
Cosimo is involved in a wide-range of programs, many of them made possible by the Annual Fund, including being a member of the jazz band Chameleon, playing on the varsity soccer team, taking part in the winter and spring musicals, and participating in the Model United Nations team. Most recently, he played his guitar in a jazz combo alongside Paquito D’Rivera, a Cuban-born, world-renowned clarinetist, saxophonist and composer, during the Global Speaker Series. He also won the prestigious 2017 Charles Mingus High School Competition Award as an “Outstanding Soloist."
“I have experienced so much at Newark Academy and deeply value the continued support I receive from faculty members and my classmates. I'm always encouraged to pursue my interests both in and out of school and I know these unique opportunities will help me to succeed in life,” Cosimo said.
Why the Annual Fund Matters to Students
The Annual Fund supports NA’s operating budget, allowing the school to dedicate more resources to financial aid each year.
Nearly 16 percent of the NA student body receive financial aid.
Extracurricular activities, such as Immersion Experiences, are supported by the Annual Fund.
The Annual Fund supports regional alumni events, enabling Newark Academy graduates to remain connected and foster relationships with other NA alumni.
