Chamber Music Concert, May 20

On May 20, the Arts Department will present its annual Chamber Music Concert at 3:00pm in the Choral Room. The concert is free and open to the public is a celebration of some of NA's finest musicians as they share works of the great composers of the past 400 years! The concert will be dedicated to the memory of Karen Pinoci, our beloved cello teacher, conductor, friend, and colleague.
Featured students are:
  • The "Everest Quartet" comprised of eighth-grade string players Asha Toolsidas, Michael Pyo, Max Gorbaty, and Mason Kung, who will perform the finale to Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
  • The ninth-grade ensemble "Quintessence,” whose members Pravan Chakravarthy, Kristin Tsay, Jeremy Luo, Monica Zhang and Elaine Choy, will perform two movements of Mendelssohn's Opus 12 Quartet in Eb.
  • Seventh-grader Colin Tsay will join both Ensembles in Vivaldi's Concerto for two cellos, and a suite of pieces from Humperdinck's opera, Hansel and Gretel.
  • Many of the members of these ensembles will perform solos and duets as well, and eighth-grader Leah Shiff will play a movement of Richard Strauss' Horn Concerto in Eb.
