Newark Academy Jazz Director Julius Tolentino Recipient of 2018 Jazz Education Achievement Award
Congratulations Julius Tolentino on being selected as the recipient of the New Jersey Association for Jazz Education (NJAJE) 2018 Jazz Education Achievement Award! His work with our students and Chameleon, NA’s Jazz Band, service to NJAJE, involvements with the Jazz Education Network are among the few reasons for his selection.
On an annual basis, NJAJE Board of Directors nominates a New Jersey jazz educator who has demonstrated the highest standards of teaching excellence and dedication to the jazz education community. The award is presented annually in November at the State Jazz Conference and again at the final concert of the NJ All State Jazz Ensemble and NJ Honors Jazz Choir at NJPAC. A commemorative plaque is presented to each recipient.
