NEWARK ACADEMY WELCOMES KEITH FISCHER AS NEW FOOTBALL COACH

The Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the hiring of Keith Fischer as the Minutemen’s new head football coach. Coach Fisher comes to NA with an accomplished football background, both as a player and working in an NFL front office with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Most recently, Coach Fisher was the defensive line and linebacker coach at his alma-mater, Dickinson College, coaching three players to All-Conference honors. "Newark Academy needs a guy that knows how to balance both academics and athletics. Coming from a place with strong academics and athletics like Dickinson, coach Fisher understands the importance of pursuing and being able to balance both, so I think he can be that guy,” Athletics Director Ted Gilbreath.

A member of the Eagles scouting department from 2003-2011, Fischer was part of six playoff teams that played in three NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl.

A 2012 Dickinson College sports Hall of Fame inductee, Fischer was an All-American defensive lineman at Dickinson in 1999. A three-time recipient of the ECAC All-Region Honors, Fischer was selected First-Team All-Centennial Conference in 1999, 2000 and 2001. A two-time team captain, Fisher set the Centennial Conference and school records for tackles-for-loss (49.5), as well as the Centennial Conference and school records for single-season sacks (16.5). Fisher was a team captain and All-Conference selection for Bernardsville High School.
