NA Students Build Off Guatemala Service Trip

After the impact of last year’s school trip to Guatemala as part of an Immersion Experience, Jack Snyder ’19 decided to organize a small trip to return this past summer.

Along with two fellow NA students, Jack traveled to Guatemala independently of NA from July 28th to August 5th to continue their past work with the organization From Houses to Homes, building houses for the impoverished Guatemalan Community.
The week of hard labor was a rewarding experience that they took a step further, organizing a GoFundMe, raising almost $3,000, as relationships that have blossomed beyond the summer were born.

Since we formed such a close bond with the workers we’re planning on sending them care packages with things that they specifically asked for such as soccer cleats, Bluetooth speakers, portable chargers, knee braces, and more work clothes,” Jack said. “Last year’s trip was an amazing experience I never thought could be topped, but after going back this year and seeing how much of an impact we personally make in the lives of both the families and the workers, I can truly see a future with this organization to continue this amazing work.”
