Newark Academy to Welcome Kenny Rampton
NA’s Arts Department will welcome renowned trumpeter Kenny Rampton, who will be working with students through a combination of school day visits, a performance, and evening band rehearsals with NA Big Band and NA’s celebrated Jazz Band, Chameleon, from October 15 -18, 2018.
Kenny joined the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in 2010, as well as performs with the Mingus Big Band, The Mingus Orchestra, The Mingus Dynasty, George Gruntz’ Concert Jazz Band, and The Manhattan Jazz Orchestra, and also leads his own sextet. His career highlights include touring around the world with The Ray Charles Orchestra in 1990, and Broadway credits from Chicago: The Musical and The Producers.
