Newark Academy Raises money for American Heart Association Go Red for Women Day

Newark Academy raised nearly $400 on Feb. 1 for the American Heart Associations’ “Go Red for Women Day” to help increase women’s heart health awareness.

On the first Friday of every Feb., which is designated as American Heart Month, the nation comes together, igniting a wave of red from coast to coast. From landmarks to news anchors and neighborhoods to online communities; this annual groundswell unites millions of people for a common goal: the eradication of heart disease and stroke.

NA did its part by encouraging students and faculty to wear red and donate, and there was also a kickboxing class to promote a healthy heart.
