NA’s Suie Choi ’20 and Sophie Licostie ’19 Move on to USA Biology Olympiad
Newark Academy senior Sophie Licostie and junior Suie Choi moved on to the semifinal round of the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO). The USABO is a national competition for students in higher level Biology courses. Sophie is currently in chemistry, while Suie is currently in Biology. After the two rounds of challenging exams, twenty Finalists are invited to a residential training program where they learn advanced biological concepts and exacting lab skills at the USABO National Finals. Students hear if they are finalists on the week of April 20. Ultimately, four students earn the right as Team USA to represent the USA at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO), a worldwide competition involving student teams from over seventy countries.
