The Evening of Jazz for Newtown Featuring Wayne Escoffery and Newark Academy Jazz
The Evening of Jazz for Newtown Featuring Wayne Escoffery of the Mingus Band and Newark AcademyJazz is a chance for all of NA’s large jazz ensembles to perform with a Grammy Award winning tenor saxophonist, while raising money for the families affected by the Sandy Hook shootings in 2012. Newark Academy’s Jazz Band Director Julius Tolentino dear friends Jimmy and Nelba lost their daughter Ana Grace and like many of the families, they have gone on a mission to prevent gun violence and promote love and community. Tickets for the show are available for $10 and donations will also be taken. Proceeds go to the Ana Grace Project. The concert will take place on April 5 in Rose Auditorium at Newark Academy (91 South Orange Ave, Livingston, NJ) from 7:00-9:00pm.
