Newark Academy Defeats Arts in a Blow-Out Victory

Newark Academy coasted to an easy victory over Arts 15-3 on Thursday In the first inning, Newark Academy got their offense started. Newark Academy scored one run when Caitlin Clancy doubled. Newark Academy put up five runs in the seventh inning. Newark Academy put the pressure on, lead by singles by Olivia Mudrick, Clancy, and Milanis Rivas. Mudrick got the win for Newark Academy. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out six and walking one. Newark Academy tallied two home runs on the day. Sam Burggraf had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Lily Rosenberg went yard in the third inning. Newark Academy scattered 14 hits in the game. Clancy, Mudrick, Sam Keller, Rosenberg, and Rivas all collected multiple hits for Newark Academy. Clancy went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Newark Academy in hits. Rivas led Newark Academy with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
