NA Ends First Half of China Exchange

Newark Academy bid a fond farewell to the exchange students and faculty the Beijing World Youth Academy (BWYA) in China who lived with Newark Academy families for two weeks. During their stay, the Chinese students attended classes, toured New York City, cooked a traditional American Thanksgiving feast, visited Grounds for Sculpture in the Garden State, and immersed themselves in American life with their NA host families.
 
Later this spring, Ms. McNeilly-Anta ’93, Mr. Chang and a group of NA students will travel to Beijing where they will be surrounded by the language and culture of China. NA students will not only practice their Mandarin, but they will also immerse themselves in the everyday living of teenage Beijingers.
