NA-Pingry II, The Rematch
Two of NJ's premier Middle School tennis programs faced off in "Basking Ridge" (aka Martinsville) today. It was to be a revenge match for Pingry who were defeated at Newark Academy earlier in the year. The Big Blue made sure their full line-up was in place today, as they sought revenge and sought to give the Minutemen their first defeat of the season.
NA jumped to an impressive 2-0 start with Captain Shivan & Nick and Smiley & Ani winning convincingly at #4 and #5. There was to be no celebration anytime soon, though, as Courts 1-3 were home to three epic tennis battles. NA only needed one to go their way, and they eventually got it as Captain Ethan & Aidan defeated a very strong doubles team, 8-4. Adding a fourth and final point, NA's Jasper & Vyom reeled off the last 4 games to win 8-4.
The Minutemen get a well-deserved break before playing their busiest week of the season. It is also their last.
