NA names Scott Rowling Girls’ Soccer Head Coach

Newark Academy Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Rowling as the next head coach of the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Program at Newark Academy. Previously the head coach at the Tilton School in New Hampshire, as well as several other New York schools, Coach Rowling brings to Newark Academy an established track record of successfully preparing girls’ teams to play championship-caliber soccer.
A former Division One soccer player himself at the University of New Hampshire, Coach Rowling guided the Tilton soccer team to its most successful season in school history and established the program as a fixture in the New England Private School Athletic Association championships. Coach Rowling is also still an active player himself and has captained United States’ men’s’ teams that won the gold medal at the Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Coach Rowling is eager to get started; “I am excited to join the Newark Academy community, both as a math teacher and soccer coach. I can't wait to work with the new and returning players to build a competitive program that will challenge for a championship each year. Our goal is to create a culture that gives our players the tools needed to be successful adults later in life. I'm looking forward to team bonding and having fun with this group, both on and off the field, and becoming a family!”

Coach Rowling will be on campus to meet the current and prospective members of the team on May 16th and will be at the Let’s Get Connected event for new students that day. Parents can expect communication from Coach about the preseason to be forthcoming. In the interim, please join the athletic department in welcoming Scott to Newark Academy.
