NA 8th Grade Learns to Become Ethical Leaders

On October 11, 2019, the Newark Academy 8th Grade learned about ethical leadership for the third consecutive year. Led by Director of Community Service Sarah Fischer, students took part in leadership and communication experiences, followed by an afternoon completing community service projects.

Working with First Friends of NJ and NY, a nonprofit that upholds the inherent dignity the inherent dignity and humanity of detained immigrants and asylum seekers, students helped out with “stamp out despair” putting together folders for detainees that had paper, note cards greeting cards, Christmas cards, envelopes, stamps and a pen, along with a note from a student.
