NA Boys’ Cross-Country Wins Back-to-Back State Titles

Newark Academy boys’ cross country won the NJSIAA Non-Public B State Championship for the second straight year with a team effort at Holmdel Park on Saturday, November 16.
 
Warren Sunada-Wong ‘20 (4th, 17:15) paced Newark Academy, followed by Jackson Powers ’20 (6th, 17:39), Jack Ryan ’21 (12th, 18:05), sophomore Maximilian Gorbaty (18th, 18:28) and freshman Matthew Malloy (19th, 18:29).
 
The Minutemen won with a score of 56 points ahead of runner-up Immaculata with 69 points. The team competes in the Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park on Saturday, November 23. Saturday's State Championship was the third in five years for NA boys' cross country.
