11 NA Musicians Make North Jersey Region Band and Orchestra
A record number of Newark Academy musicians auditioned for the North Jersey Region Band and Orchestra on January 4, with 11 making the groups. Student musicians prepare for months to audition for these elite ensembles. Acceptance into the Region groups qualify you to try out for All-State. The Region Wind Ensemble concert is Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Parsippany Hills High School, while the Region Orchestra concerts is Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3:00 p.m.

Junior Violinist: Kristin Tsay
Junior Oboist: Ruthie Gu (Wind Ensemble and Orchestra)
