Seven Newark Academy Seniors Earn College Board National Recognition Program Awards

Seven Newark Academy seniors were named to National Recognition Programs the College Board. Lauren Martindale, Bolu Oshuntolu, Jeffery Keys and Tiffany Agkpo were named National African American Recognition Program Scholars. Nicole Pesquin, Mateo Zoubek, and Julia Schwed were named National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars, and Jeffery Keys was also named a National Indigenous Recognition Program Scholar.

The College Board National Recognition Programs create pathways to college for students from underrepresented communities by awarding them academic honors and connecting them with universities across the country. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT and are African American, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, or attend school in a rural area or small town, maybe invited to apply for academic recognition as part of the College Board National Recognition Programs.
 
The College Board National Recognition Programs grant students academic honors that can be included in college applications. Colleges will use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups who have excelled on their PSAT/NMSQT and in their classrooms.
