New Fencers Get Their First Taste of Competition
Numbers always play a huge factor on our girls team, as we struggle filling spots again this season. With one vacant spot in each weapon, we face the enormous obstacle of forfeiting 3 points per spot, putting us down 0-9 at the start of every match. Nonetheless, our NA Minutewomen stepped to the plate and faught relentlessly every fencing bout. Freshmen fencers Lena Skagerlind (sabre) and Karina Pinto (foil) earned their first varsity wins, both sitting at 3-3 in the  individual win/loss column for the day, while Junior fencer Abby Parker rocked the house with an unblemised 6-0 day in sabre. Small team and all, our girls are sharpening their skills to being dangerous to fence against this season. Look out, State Individuals Tournament!
