A VB Plays Terrific Match Against Rutgers Prep; B Team Comes on Strong in 2nd set

Today's A team match against Rutgers Prep was  filled with excellent serving, serve receive and hitting by both teams. The first set began with two kills-one by Sydney (assist Fiona) and the second by Jessie (assist Fiona). Fiona and Ava combined several times for sets and hits from the back row. All in all, the team in the first set had 7 kills, a record high for the team this year. Larisa took charge of the serving mid-set serving 3 aces in a row. The second set Rutgers Prep came alive  with number #32 serving low hard serves. Meredith and Kaya added two aces and Anika and Alyssa had solid returns, but we were unable to outscore RP. In the third set, NA came from behind with Ava and Larisa serving to  go ahead 13-12. The match see-sawed back and forth with good plays by everyone. With strong serving Jessie led us to point 2419 where RP added two, but could not hold on for the win.
The B team with no subs gave it there all. Sophia had a kill to score the first point of the set and Nia added a great return. In the second set Nia, Kaya, and Sophia all served aces as we put the pressure on Rutgers Prep, Sophia served 5 in a row to close the gap and Nia hit an ace at point 18 to make Rutgers Prep have to work even harder for their win.
