LumeNAtion advances to ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Semifinals

Congratulations to LumeNAtion for their first place win at the ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinals on January 27! The group competed against seven high schools’ a cappella groups and advanced to the Semifinals, which will take place on March 24 at Northern Highland High School, to compete for the title of Mid-Atlantic Champions with the hope to advance to the Finals. Additionally, Sammi Powell ’19 won the Outstanding Soloist Award and LumeNAtion will be featured on Aca-ville Radio in the next few weeks. More details to come on this radio feature.
“Their performance was flawless with regards to energy and delivery,” says NA Choral Director Viraj Lal. “All 17 students poured their heart and souls out on that stage! It was a shared moment for everyone in the space, with the audience feeling LumeNAtion's passion as they performed. And, it was a proud moment for me to see these students take this art form seriously and become a unified ensemble, all while having fun.”

A special thanks to Mr. Bender for his outstanding vocal arrangements, Megan Ferentinos for inspiring Madeleine Levinsohn ’19 to be a fierce student-choreographer, and the parents for their unwavering support. “Our students are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong team guiding them along the way,” says Mr. Lal.
