Lady Minutemen Upset St. E's in State Playoffs

In the 8 - 9 first round game of the NJSIAA NP-B tournament, NA traveled to Convent Station to play the Panthers.  After a close first half (tied 22-22), the Lady Minutemen came out in the third and took a 35-34 lead into the final period.  Ivy Bethea scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half to help boost NA.  Maria Armas' key three pointer and tenacious defense put the team ahead by five with about five minutes left to play, the biggest lead of the game.  St. E's got within one, with under two minutes to play, but Sam Keller scored a key lay-up to bring the margin to three with under a minute to play.  The Panther's converted one of two free throws to get within two, and NA survived the flurry of fouls and a turnover, and held on for the victory.
Bethea also finished with 9 rebounds.  Sam Keller chipped in with 13 points along with 7 steals, and Nora Gaby-Biegel had 11 assists.
