Chameleon and NA Big Band Earned Gold Ratings at NJAJE State Preliminary Festival

Both Chameleon and the NA Big Band performed in the New Jersey Association for Jazz Education (NJAJE) State Preliminary Festival before Spring Break. NA was one of five schools that hosted a preliminary event with 45 bands in total participating. Chameleon and the NA Big Band both received a gold rating -  the first gold rating for the NA Big Band, who also has the third seed going into the finals in late April. NA also received all four soloists’ awards: Samantha Powell ’18, Reid Christmann ’18, and Allen Zhu ’18 from Chameleon and Jacob Tolentino ’24 from the NA Big Band.  Chameleon also received the best sight-reading award and the outstanding rhythm section award. The finals will take place at Burlington High School on April 28 at 5:00 pm.
