This course will help students improve their basic sports skills. Students will learn and develop the fundamentals of both physical health and skill-related fitness concepts, such as agility, coordination, and balance, while also incorporating them into both gameplay and their everyday lives. As students rotate through one-week units on sports – for example - volleyball, basketball, paddleball, and soccer, the course will emphasize skills fundamentals, rules, gameplay, good sportsmanship, fitness, and, most importantly, fun! In addition, the students will have a choice of free play on Fridays. Students each week will determine what is to be played on the last day of the week. The sport for each week is decided based on the ability, skill level, weather, and past experience of the students in the class for that particular week. Classes will take place in the Wrightson Gym and Danco Fitness Center, as well as on the outdoor athletic fields. Students may enroll for the full six weeks or select a three-week enrollment.
