Livingston Captures Lead Early to Defeat Newark Academy

Newark Academy fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 19-1 loss to Livingston on Thursday. Livingston took the lead on a triple in the first inning. The Newark Academy struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Livingston, giving up 19 runs. Livingston scored ten runs in the second inning. The big inning for Livingston came thanks to singles by #27 and #26, doubles by #1 and #1, and an error on a ball put in play by #26. #23 was the winning pitcher for Livingston. She went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out ten. Lily Rosenberg took the loss for Newark Academy. She surrendered 12 runs on six hits over two innings, striking out one. Newark Academy smacked one home run on the day. Olivia Mudrick went deep in the first inning. Caitlin Clancy and Mudrick each collected one hit to lead Newark Academy.
