We look forward to getting to know you and your family throughout your school search process. Please reach out to a member of our team with any questions now or throughout the process. We are here to help!
In order to get to know our candidates, as well as allow candidates a chance to ask their questions, we require all candidates to complete an interview with a member of our team.
Once the Online Admission Form (OAF) has been submitted and processed, candidates will be eligible to self-schedule an interview through the candidate checklist. Interviews will be conducted in person unless it would be difficult for a candidate to come to campus. Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to schedule a virtual interview. We will not be conducting parent interviews, but will answer any questions that parents may have at the time of a candidate’s interview.
If you choose to do a Day Visit, the interview will be completed as part of your visit.
We require a Teacher Recommendation Form be completed and submitted from each candidate’s current English and Math Teacher(s), as well as an academic teacher of choice. If a candidate has the same teacher for English and math, we require the teacher to complete a recommendation for each subject.
Families must send the recommendation forms to teachers electronically via the Candidate Admission Portal/Checklist. The recommendations forms will be available once the OAF has been submitted and processed.
Completed recommendations will be submitted directly to Newark Academy.
We recommend that families wait until December to ask teachers for recommendations so that they have the time to get to know the student.
Parents/Guardians must request official copies of a candidate’s transcripts from the previous two years be sent to Newark Academy. This requires a parent/guardian to download, print, and sign the transcript release form and send it to the candidate’s current school.
Due: Scores must be submitted prior to January 12, 2024
All applicants are required to take either the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) as part of our application process. The test should be taken between July 1, 2023 and the January 12, 2024 supplemental materials deadline. The ISEE and SSAT both require advance registration, so please plan ahead. Both testing organizations assign a school code to Newark Academy that you will be asked to include during registration so that the scores will be sent to us. Those codes are as follows:
ISEE School Code: 310915 SSAT School Code: 5296
We are pleased to announce that Newark Academy will be offering both the SSAT and ISEE on campus this winter. Registration can be made through ISEE and SSAT: Saturday, December 2: Register for the ISEE Saturday, December 9: Register for the SSAT
Ensuring that Newark Academy remains accessible and affordable to families of varying financial backgrounds is an institutional priority and NA awards around $4 million in need-based financial aid annually.
Newark Academy is proud to partner with Clarity to determine a family’s financial need. To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools. As Clarity is operated by a third party, Newark Academy is not able to provide fee waivers.
The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is January 12, 2024 for prospective families.
If you need technical support, there is in-app support available as well as email support at email@example.com in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
Prospective students and families currently living outside the United States who wish to be considered for admission must submit the same Online Admission Form as domestic prospective students. As a day school, Newark Academy requires that all enrolled students reside with at least one parent, adult immediate family member or guardian. Newark Academy does not issue I-20 student visas.
