Newark Academy Tops Pennington in the 1/4 Round of the Prep Tournament
Newark Academy took a 23-14 lead into the half-time break, and kept that nine point lead into the fourth. Pennington took their first lead of the game with 2 minutes to play, but some big steals by Nora Gaby-Biegel, gave NA the opportunity to hold on. Sofia Miller hits a free throw, Pennington scores for a one point lead, then a bucket by Kyra Hermans put NA ahead by one with less than 30 seconds to play. Pennington ball with 2 seconds left on their sideline, but they couldn't get the shot off. Kate Fishbone led NA with 14 points, Zoe Hermans chipped in with 11 points. Sofia Miller pulled down a team high 12 rebounds, and Kiki Afolabi had 8 caroms. Nora Gaby-Biegel finished with 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 8 steals!
