Newark Academy HR Director Earns NBOA Professional Achievement Award

Newark Academy Director of Human Resources Sarah Guelich is the recipient of the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) Professional Achievement Award. This award recognizes the invaluable contributions made by independent school business, finance and operations staff.
 
Sarah began her career at Newark Academy as an accounts payable bookkeeper in 2006. In 2008, she was promoted to assistant director of business and finance. In 2019 she became Newark Academy’s first director of human resources (HR).

“I have watched Sarah learn and excel through her years as my assistant,” says Director of Business and Finance Sam Goldfisher. “She holds herself to a high degree of professionalism in her endeavors, including as head cross country coach, and imbues confidentiality. In the very complex and emotionally highly-charged world of HR, Sarah brings a sense of balance, maturity and level-headedness to her work. Throughout her 17 years at Newark Academy, Sarah has worked on many employee policy initiatives and benefits and has navigated NA through complex matters.
